Visual Styles made easy - last update

The InjectRes program is intended to make it easy to add visual styles and the highest possible privileges to any new projects, as easy as clicking a button...

You can also use it for existing projects if you have not already added a resource file to them.

If you already have a resource file in your project then you cannot use the InjectRes app but you can very easily do it yourself following the simple instructions outlined in the DoItYourself folder included in the zip.

You can also add styles to the VB IDE with a vb6 manifest file that you simply copy into the VB program folder.

New update - the styles manifest included now adds the highest possible privileges to your program as well as adding visual styles.

Last update (I hear laughing) - This latest update also adds the option to inject your programs version info into the manifest resource file.

For your own safety, please:
  1. Re-scan downloaded files using your personal virus checker before using it.
  2. NEVER, EVER run compiled files (.exe's, .ocx's, .dll's etc.)--only run source code.
  3. Scan the source code with Minnow's Project Scanner

If you don't have a virus scanner, you can get one at many places on the net including:McAfee.com

Error message, Resource Already Exists.
Don't most all projects already have resources. Need an alternate way.

Nice. Is it possible to apply visual styles to an exe as well like we do via resource editors? Add another option to include a manifest to run the app in elevated privileges as well. Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to add info on how to create a new manifest resource file using the included manifest and the Resource Compiler (rc.exe in VB program folder)

Great. I suggest you to add an Wizard like interface to create the manifest with the selected attributes and then support for injecting it into vbp.
I found another interesting project here.
