Suppress Beep on KeyPress Event

     This article will quickly and to the point show you how to supress the beep when the user presses the enter key in a single line text box.


All you have to do is set the e.Handled to True and no beeps.

Private Sub txt_Input_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles txt_Input.KeyPress

If e.KeyChar = Chr(13) Then

Console.WriteLine("ENTER PRESSED")

e.Handled = True

End If
